"Getting more than before" would sum up what I have here in Canada compared to those I have in the Philippines.
First, I have more time in the computer, having access to either a desktop or one of two laptops . This gave me the chance to get a Twitter account and tweet away. I didn't have this opportunity in PH. I had 50 or more tweets in three days, with a variety of news, topics and content. In time I can reach more people as I gather momentum. I can just imagine the exponential growth of this sharing of words and ideas and their complementary applications in God's word.
Second, I can only read the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin in PH; now I can read the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Businessweek, Readers Digest, Boston Globe, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, etc. The time I have after my routine little jobs here is the only limit to my voracious appetite to read. But I have the early hours of the day to compensate for the limited time.
Third, I have more coffee to drink what with two competing brands to choose from. McDonald's coffee is the only choice in the PH; while here I have two equally good tasting brands: McDonald's and Tim Hortons. I was talking of the not so expensive coffee. Filipino folks surely knows that McDonald's competitions i.e., Jollibee, KFC, etc., are not into serving reasonably priced everyday coffee.
Fourth, on the negative side I eat more food here than ever before. And the food being cooked are not fresh produce not like what my wife does in PH. I have gotten fat with only a week of stay. It's good that my daughter has a treadmill in her basement where I can do my daily exercise, which can compete with my two-hour walk in PH. I will getting less of the essential sunlight though during winter.
Now, I fully understand that God would not have fulfilled His promise to get me here with the whole family, which is already a rare privilege, only to give me less of what I have in the Philippines.
God is with the family everywhere and everytime. This is one other promise He is fulfilling for me.
