Passport To Eternal Life

Believe In God

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. - John 1:11-13 NIV

John 3:16-21 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Author's Commentary

Everyone is under God's condemnation until the time an individual comes to acknowledge God's ownership over him or her. At this moment of faith pardon is given and eternal life begins, where death is just a temporary respite. [N. B. Baptism by a church or membership in any christian religion doesn't necessarily mean you have faith.]

With the pardon comes the resources and provisions, God's gifts, too, to live a righteous life - the prerequisite to live in the Kingdom of God.
